Rail Operators

    • Amtrak Cascades - The core service runs from Seattle to Portland, entering Oregon after crossing the Columbia River. Three services extend south from Portland to Eugene.
    • Coast Starlight - This is the Seattle to San Francisco service entering the state from Washington at the Columbia River Bridge and leaving Oregon after Klamath Falls into California.
    • The Empire Builder - Portland/Seattle to Chicago, but only runs a few miles in Oregon as far as the Burlington Northern Railroad Bridge over the Columbia River after which it passes through Washington State.
  • Westside Express Service (WES) TriMet's WES Commuter Rail connects the cities of Wilsonville, Tualatin, Tigard and Beaverton. It is one of only two suburb-to-suburb commuter rail lines in the USA.

  • Willamette Shore Trolley - This heritage streetcar line operates along the west bank of the Willamette River between Portland and Lake Oswego. The line is 5.51 miles (9 km) long, standard gauge and operated by battery powered trams.
