Rail Operators

There are various Amtrak services in Washington:

  • long-distance: between the Coast Starlight between Seattle and Los Angeles, the Empire Builder between Seattle / Portland (Oregon) and Chicago
  • international / regional : between Eugene (Oregon) and Vancouver (British Columbia, Canada) he Northeast Corridor and places in Virginia.

Sound Transit

Sound Transit operates commuter rail services on two routes between Everett and Seattle and Seattle and Tacoma and two light-rail routes around Seattle.


Note: The Sound Transit routes between Everett, Seattle and Tacoma are also used by Amtrak services.
