Rail Operators

  • AMTRAK
    • The Vermonter - This daily service starts in Washington D.C. and passes through New York city and state, then Connecticut and Massachusetts before entering Vermont where it calls at Brattleboro, Bellows Falls, Claremont, Windsor-Mt. Ascutney, White River Junction, Randolph, Montpelier-Berlin, Waterbury-Stowe and Essex Junction before terminating at St. Albans.
    • Ethan Allen Express - Daily service from New York through Albany to enter Vermont and call at Castleton, Rutland, James M. Jeffords Station, Middlebury, and Ferrisburgh-Vergennes before terminating at Burlington Union Station.
    • Vermont Rail System - Owns most of the tracks in Vermont, some of which are used by AMTRAK. Whilst primarily freight operators, they operate the Champlain Valley Dinner Train, which runs from Burlington to Middlebury on the same route as the Ethan Allen Express.
